let me start by relating a well-known story in the bible that is found in Luke 8:43-48.
So, this woman pushed her way through the crowd, totally oblivious to the many chatter and stares as she made her way to Jesus. She has been ailing for twelve years and with all the doctors she’d visited, none were able to assist her in providing a cure for her malady. She then heard about the many miracles that were performed by Christ Jesus and regardless of the crowd, she decided that nothing will stop her from receiving her healing. She demonstrated great confidence in Jesus as she believed that if she could just touch the hem of His garment, she would be made whole.
The woman looked forward and she pressed, yes she pressed in spite of the obstacles, until she finally reached the Master and touched the hem of His clothes. Immediately…yes immediately, she was restored. Jesus commended her for her great faith as she received healing as a result of her trust in the miraculous healing power of Christ Jesus.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. Faith is having a firm belief that God will perform all that He says He will do in His words.
Ladies, lets evaluate some of our daily routines. We express so much confidence in the things around us – sometimes you fly on a plane with the faith that you will land safely, you take a bus with the hope that it won’t crash, you are sitting on a chair right now with the hope that it will not collapse.
The question you may now ask is: Why is it a struggle to exercise unshakeable faith in Christ Jesus and how can you develop this faith?
Having knowledge of God is the first step in building your faith. In getting to know God, you need to spend quality time with Him in prayer and meditation. Reading His word daily will also help to strengthen your faith in Him. The word of God reveals His character – He’s a loving, caring and forgiving Father who wants His children to live a life in Him filled with joy and blessings.
