Names on Your Heart: Praying for the Salvation of Loved Ones

1 min read

Almost every believer carries names in their heart.

A son.

A daughter.

A spouse.

A parent.

A sibling.

A friend.

Someone we love deeply and long to see come to Christ.

Praying for salvation can be emotional. Sometimes it feels hopeful. Sometimes it feels painful. Sometimes it feels like nothing is changing. But do not stop praying.

God hears every prayer whispered through tears.

Second Peter 3:9 reminds us that the Lord is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. That means your desire for your loved one’s salvation is close to the heart of God.

Keep loving them. Keep planting seeds. Keep living your faith with grace. Keep speaking truth when the door opens. Keep praying when you do not see movement.

Your prayers are not powerless.Your love is not wasted.Your example matters more than you know.

Sometimes people come to God suddenly. Sometimes slowly. Sometimes after years of quiet seeds taking root. Trust the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do.

Do not carry the burden as if salvation depends on you. It belongs to God. Your role is to pray, love, shine, and believe.

  1. Write their names down.

  2. Speak them before the Lord.

  3. Declare mercy over their lives.

God is still saving.

God is still reaching.

God is still drawing hearts home.

Do not give up on the names God placed on your heart.
