The Prayer Chair: Creating a Morning Place With God

Every believer needs a place where the soul can breathe.

It does not have to be fancy. It may be a chair in the corner, a small table by a window, a quiet space in the bedroom, or even a peaceful spot on the porch. What matters is not the size of the space — it is the presence you invite there.

The prayer chair is more than furniture. It becomes a meeting place with God.

In that place, you can open your Bible, whisper a prayer, write in your journal, cry if you need to, listen for God’s voice, and prepare your heart for the day ahead.

Before the phone starts ringing, before the messages come in, before the demands of the day begin — sit with the Lord.

Psalm 5:3 says,

“In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly.”

Morning prayer does not have to be long to be powerful. Five sincere minutes with God can change the direction of your day.

Pray over your mind.

Pray over your family.

Pray over your decisions.

Pray over your attitude.

Pray over your peace.

The world is loud, but God still speaks in quiet places.

Create a space where your heart can be still.

Create a rhythm where your day begins with heaven.

Create a habit of meeting.

God before meeting the world.

Your prayer chair may look ordinary, but when God meets you there, it becomes sacred.
